Juniper is intentionally designed to collect the minimum data necessary to operate a fair and functional music platform.

- Total listening time (used to calculate artist payouts)
- Device information (such as device type, operating system version, and app version)
- Error logs and crash reports (to improve stability and performance)
- Approximate location (used only to show nearby independent record stores)
We do not:
- Access your contacts
- Access your microphone
- Track your activity outside the Juniper app
- Sell or share your data with third parties
Camera access is optional and only used if you choose to scan QR codes. Juniper does not access your camera unless you explicitly enable this feature.
Account Information
If you create an account, we may store:
- Your name
- Your email address
This information is used only to:
- Manage your account
- Communicate with you about Juniper
- Optionally share your support with artists only if you explicitly choose to do so
We do not use your account information for advertising purposes.
Analytics & Artist Payouts
Juniper measures listening time, not play counts.
Listening data is:
- Aggregated
- Used to fairly compensate artists
- Not used for behavioral advertising
- Not shared with ad networks or third-party tracking services
Juniper does not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking technologies.
Data Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data storage
- Restricted internal access controls
- Secure server infrastructure
No system is 100% secure, but we are committed to safeguarding your data and continuously improving our security practices.
Your Choices
You may:
- Use Juniper without creating an account
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Opt out of optional features such as QR scanning or artist sharing
